National Education Society for Tribal Students (NESTS) has released the official notification for the EMRS Staff Selection Exam (ESSE) 2025. This is a massive recruitment drive to fill over 7267 vacancies for Principal, Post Graduate Teachers (PGTs), Trained Graduate Teachers (TGTs), and various non-teaching posts in Eklavya Model Residential Schools (EMRS) across India.

The recruitment offers a wide range of opportunities. The total vacancies are distributed as follows:
Principal: 225 vacancies
Post Graduate Teachers (PGTs): 1460 vacancies
Trained Graduate Teachers (TGTs): 3962 vacancies
Female Staff Nurse: 550 vacancies
Hostel Warden: 635 vacancies

Application Fee for ESSE 2025
The application fee is non-refundable and varies by category and post.
For Female/SC/ST/PwBD Candidates:
For all posts: ₹500 (Processing Fee)
For All Other Candidates (General, OBC, EWS):
Principal: ₹2500 (₹2000 App Fee + ₹500 Processing Fee)
PGT & TGT: ₹2000 (₹1500 App Fee + ₹500 Processing Fee)
Non-Teaching Posts: ₹1500 (₹1000 App Fee + ₹500 Processing Fee)
Payment Mode: Online via Debit Card, Credit Card, Net Banking, or UPI.
EMRS 2025 Eligibility Criteria
Age Limit (as of 23rd October 2025)
The upper age limit varies by post:
Principal: Maximum 50 years
PGTs: Maximum 40 years
TGTs & Other Posts: Maximum 35 years
JSA & Lab Attendant: Maximum 30 years
Age Relaxation is applicable for SC/ST/OBC/PwBD/Ex-Servicemen/Women candidates as per Govt. rules. The absolute maximum age limit after all relaxations is 55 years.
Educational Qualification
The educational requirements are post-specific:
Principal: Master's Degree + B.Ed. + Relevant administrative experience.
PGT: Post Graduation in the relevant subject with 50% marks + B.Ed.
TGT: Graduation in the relevant subject with 50% marks + B.Ed. + CTET Qualification (Paper-II).
JSA: 12th Pass + Typing Speed (35 WPM English / 30 WPM Hindi).
Lab Attendant: 10th Pass with a diploma in Lab Tech OR 12th Pass in Science.

EMRS Exam Pattern 2025: Tier-I & Tier-II
The selection process will involve two tiers of written exams. For some posts, there is an interview or skill test.
Tier-I: Preliminary Exam (OMR Based)
Mode: Pen and Paper (OMR Sheet)
Type: Objective Multiple-Choice Questions (MCQs)
Duration: 2 Hours
Total Marks: 100
Key Sections: General Awareness, Reasoning, Teaching Aptitude/Quantitative Aptitude, Domain Knowledge, and a Language Competency Test (which is qualifying in nature).
Tier-II: Main Exam
Mode: Pen and Paper (Combination of Objective and Descriptive questions)
Duration: 3 Hours
Total Marks: 100 (40 for Objective, 60 for Descriptive)
Syllabus: Subject-specific knowledge. The detailed syllabus is available on the NESTS website.
Additional Stages:
For Principal: Tier-II is followed by a personal Interview.
For JSA: Tier-II is followed by a Skill Test (Typing Test).
Final Merit for most posts will be prepared based on Tier-II scores only.
