Post-Wise Vacancy Details & Interview Schedule

The interview is divided into two specific dates based on the category of the post.

Interview Date 1: 24th February 2026 (Tuesday)

Candidates for the following positions must report for registration by 9:50 AM:

  • PRTs (Primary Teachers)

  • Balvatika Teacher

  • Special Educator

  • ATL / Vocational Instructor

Interview Date 2: 26th February 2026 (Thursday)

Candidates for the following positions must report for registration by 9:50 AM:

  • PGTs (Post Graduate Teachers) in Physics, Chemistry, Maths, Biology, English, Computer Science, and Hindi

  • TGTs (Trained Graduate Teachers) in English, Maths, Social Science, Science, Hindi, and Sanskrit

  • Others: Sports Coach, Music Coach, Dance Coach, Counsellor, Regional Language Teacher (Odia), and Computer Instructor

Essential Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must meet the specific educational qualifications prescribed by KVS. Since this is a contractual engagement for 2026-27, the eligibility largely follows the KVS Recruitment Rules.

Qualifications for PGTs (Post Graduate Teachers)

Educational Qualification:

  • Two-year Integrated Post Graduate M.Sc. course of RIE, NCERT OR

  • Master's Degree from a recognized university with at least 50% marks in the concerned subject.

Subject-wise Requirements:

  • PGT (Hindi): Hindi or Sanskrit with Hindi as one of the subjects at Graduate level

  • PGT (English): English

  • PGT (Physics): Physics, Electronics, Applied Physics, or Nuclear Physics

  • PGT (Chemistry): Chemistry or Biochemistry

  • PGT (Maths): Mathematics or Applied Mathematics

  • PGT (Bio): Botany, Zoology, Life Science, Bioscience, Genetics, Micro-Biology, Molecular Bio, or Plant Physiology (provided they have studied Botany and Zoology at graduation level)

Additional Requirements:

  • B.Ed. Mandatory: B.Ed. or equivalent degree from a recognized University is required.

  • Medium of Teaching: Proficiency in teaching in both Hindi and English media.

  • Relaxation: In the absence of suitable B.Ed. candidates, Post Graduates with 50% marks may be considered.

  • PGT (Computer Science): Candidates need BE/B.Tech (CS/IT), or M.Sc. (CS)/MCA, or B.Sc. (CS)/BCA with Post Graduate degree, B.E./B.Tech (any stream) with PGDCA, or 'B' Level from DOEACC with PG Degree, or 'C' Level from DOEACC with Graduation.

Qualifications for TGTs (Trained Graduate Teachers)

Educational Qualification: Bachelor's Degree in the concerned subject.

Subject-wise Requirements:

  • TGT (Hindi): Hindi as a subject in all three years of Graduation

  • TGT (English): English as a subject in all three years of Graduation

  • TGT (Sanskrit): Sanskrit as a subject in all three years of Graduation

  • TGT (Maths): Bachelor's Degree in Maths with any two of the following subjects: Physics, Chemistry, Electronics, Computer Science, Statistics

  • TGT (Science): Bachelor's Degree in a combination of Botany, Zoology, and Chemistry

  • TGT (Social Studies): Any two of History, Geography, Economics, and Political Science, of which one must be either History or Geography

Additional Requirements:

  • B.Ed. & CTET: B.Ed. is mandatory. Candidates must have passed CTET Paper-II (though candidates without CTET may be considered if otherwise eligible as per KVS rules).

  • Proficiency: Teaching in Hindi and English medium.

  • Desirable: Knowledge of Computer Applications.

Qualifications for PRTs (Primary Teachers)

Essential Requirements:

  • Senior Secondary (10+2) or its equivalent with at least 50% marks

  • AND 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed)

  • OR 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed)

  • OR 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education)

  • Must be qualified in CTET Paper-I

Qualifications for Balvatika Teachers

Preferred Qualification:

  • Senior Secondary (10+2) or equivalent from a recognized board with at least 50% Marks

  • AND Two-Year Diploma in Nursery Teacher Education, Pre-school Education, or Childhood Education Programme (D.E.C.Ed)

  • OR B.Ed (Nursery) from NCTE recognized institutions

  • Proficiency in teaching through Hindi & English media

  • Desirable: Knowledge of working on Computer

Relaxed Qualification: If candidates with the above qualification are not available, those with PRT qualifications (D.El.Ed) will be considered.

Qualifications for Other Specialist Posts

Odia Teacher (Regional Language):

  • Graduation from recognized university in the concerned subject with minimum 50% marks in the subject and aggregate

  • Odia must be an elective subject at Degree level

  • B.Ed. from recognized university is mandatory

Sports Coach:

  • Graduation with recognized Diploma in Physical Education or B.P.Ed.

  • Participation in State/National level games/sports will be given preference

Music & Dance Coach:

  • Senior Secondary School Certificate with 50% marks or Intermediate with 50% marks or its equivalent

  • AND bachelor's degree in music/dance or equivalent from a recognized University

  • OR Diploma in Music/Dance

  • Experience in classical vocal music, classical and folk dance preferred

  • Participation in state level/National level in the concerned field

Counsellor:

  • B.A./B.Sc. in Psychology with Certificate or Diploma in Counselling

  • Minimum One Year Experience in providing Career/Educational Counseling to school students (desirable)

Computer Instructor:

  • At least 50% marks in aggregate in any of the following: BE/B.Tech (Computer Science), BCA, MCA, M.Sc. (Computer Science), M.Sc. (Electronics with Computer Science), M.Sc. (IT), B.Sc. (Computer Science)

  • OR bachelor's degree in any Science subject/Maths with PGDCA

  • OR Post-Graduate Degree in any subject with PGDCA or 'O' Level or 'A' Level from DOEACC

Special Educator:

  • Graduation in any discipline with 50% marks from a recognized University

  • Diploma Certificate or B.Ed Course in Special Education

  • As per CBSE guidelines

Nurse:

  • Diploma in Nursing, Diploma in General Nursing & Midwife Course, or B.Sc. Nursing

  • Experience in Govt./Semi Govt./Private Hospital will be preferred

ATL/Vocational Instructor:

  • B.E. or B.Tech in Electronics & Communication Engineering

  • Minimum One Year Experience in the relevant field

  • Competence to teach both in English & Hindi medium

Salary (As per KVS Rules)

The selected candidates will be hired on a contractual/part-time basis. Remuneration will be given as per KVS Rules for contractual teachers. Generally, for contractual teachers in KVS, the remuneration ranges from Rs. 20,000 to Rs. 35,000 per month depending on the post (PRT/TGT/PGT) and qualification.

Selection Process

Written Test (if required): If the number of candidates for a particular post is high, a written test will be conducted to shortlist candidates for the interview.

Walk-in-Interview: Candidates who clear the screening (or directly if numbers are low) will be interviewed by the panel.

Preference Criteria:

  • Candidates with teaching experience in CBSE or English medium schools

  • CTET qualified candidates (for TGT/PRT posts)
