Pay Scale: ₹25,500 – 81,100/- (Level 7 of the ORSP Pay Matrix, 2017) plus allowances.
Category wise Vacancy Distribution
A total of 25 vacancies are distributed across various reserved categories. There are 5 vacancies for SEBC candidates, 12 for ST candidates, and 8 for SC candidates. Within these, 9 vacancies are reserved for women candidates. Backlog vacancies of 1 for PwD candidates and 2 for Ex-Servicemen will also be filled during this recruitment drive.
Eligibility Criteria for HC Orissa Recruitment
1. Age Limit (as on 04/09/2025)
Minimum Age: 21 Years
Maximum Age: 32 Years
Candidates must be born between: 5th September 1993 and 3rd September 2004.
Age Relaxation:
5 Years for SC/ST/SEBC & Women candidates.
10 Years for PwD candidates (40%-50% disability).
15 Years for PwD candidates belonging to SC/ST/SEBC categories.
Ex-Servicemen: As per State Government rules.
Proof of Age: Only the Date of Birth recorded in the High School Certificate or equivalent is acceptable.
2. Educational Qualification
A Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline from a recognized university.
A minimum speed of 80 words per minute in Shorthand and 40 words per minute in Typewriting.
Adequate knowledge in Computer Application.

General/SEBC Candidates: ₹500/-
SC/ST/PwD Candidates: Exempted from fee.

High Court of Orissa Exam Pattern 2025
The selection process consists of three stages:
(A) Qualifying Test in English (100 Marks - 1.5 Hours)
This written test includes an essay, translation from Odia to English, re-translation from English to Odia, and a section on English grammar. General category candidates must score at least 35% to qualify, while SC/ST candidates need a minimum of 30%.
(B) Computer Application Test (Qualifying - 100 Marks)
This test has a theory section and a practical skill test on topics like MS Office, MS Access, and Internet operations. All candidates must secure a minimum of 50% marks to pass this stage.
(C) Skill Test (Final Merit)
The final stage involves a shorthand dictation test at 80 words per minute and transcription on a computer at 40 words per minute. Marks are awarded for each correct word, and candidates with more than 10% errors will be disqualified. The final merit list for selection is prepared based on the marks in this Skill Test.
